Job summary

BDP International is seeking a Team Leader Ocean Import LLP to oversee and support a dynamic team in Rotterdam. You will ensure timely order processing, enforce SOPs, and maintain quality across documentation and invoicing processes.

You will coach staff, monitor KPI adherence, and drive continuous improvement in daily operations while coordinating with cross-functional teams and clients in the freight forwarding sector.

Qualifications

• 3 - 5 years of experience in freight forwarding
• Strong organizational and problem-solving skills
• Leadership skills with the ability to motivate and guide a team
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and other relevant software
• Proactive approach to process improvement
• Fluent in English and Dutch (both written and spoken)
• Strong attention to detail, analytical skills, and service oriented attitude
• Proactive, adaptable and able to work under pressure

Responsibilities

• Supervise and guide the team, ensuring accurate and timely processing of orders
• Oversee documentation processes, including SOP updates and invoice handling
• Monitor compliance with KPI’s service agreements and operational procedures
• Maintain and update SOPs and work instructions for each customer account
• Identify and resolve operational issues, escalating where needed
• Coach, mentor and support team members
• Identify and log quality issues, propose process improvements and implement agreed changes
• Participate in cross-training to cover for colleagues during absences or peak workload
• Facilitate regular team meetings in coordination with the team
