Job summary

MSD Netherlands in Boxmeer seeks an MES System Specialist focused on the PASX platform to analyze, design, implement, and optimize MES solutions supporting regulated manufacturing. You will partner with IT, engineering, and production to ensure system stability, drive continuous improvement, and enable validated digital manufacturing.

The role requires hands-on MES, data integration, and validation expertise, with experience in Agile environments and familiarity with OT/IT architectures.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD degree in Life Sciences, Biotechnology, Pharmacology, Information Systems, or a related field.
• Extensive experience in regulated industries (pharma, biotech, food, or similar).
• Proven hands‑on experience with Körber PASX MES systems, including integrations (Level 2–4).
• Strong understanding of manufacturing systems, data flows, and system integrations.
• Knowledge of GxP environments, validation processes, and compliance requirements.
• Experience with industrial data platforms and protocols (e.g., OPC UA, Aveva PI, Kepware).
• Strong knowledge of databases and query languages (e.g., Oracle, PostgreSQL).
• Understanding of OT/IT architectures (ISA-95 / ISA-99) and secure network design.
• Familiarity with system infrastructure concepts (load balancing, failover clusters).
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills in complex manufacturing environments.
• Experience in stakeholder management and cross‑functional collaboration.
• Fluent in English.
• Experience with Agile methodologies.
• Knowledge of Kubernetes, CI/CD pipelines, and containerized applications.
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure).
• Scripting skills (PowerShell or Python).

Responsibilities

• Analyze and design information systems and processes related to MES.
• Support manufacturing by identifying, troubleshooting, and resolving system issues.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and deliver effective solutions.
• Drive continuous improvement through analysis, optimization, and innovation of MES processes.
• Design, deploy, and maintain Körber PASX MES solutions and integrations.
• Develop and maintain system documentation, including SOPs, training materials, and user guides.
• Perform system testing, validation, and qualification activities.
• Investigate incidents, perform root cause analyses, and implement corrective actions.
• Ensure compliance with GxP regulations and internal quality standards.
• Monitor system performance and proactively identify risks and improvement opportunities.
• Collaborate with vendors on system upgrades, integrations, and enhancements.
• Support end-users through training and on-floor assistance.
• Participate in cross-functional projects aligned with business objectives.
