Job summary

MSD Animal Health Nederland seeks an MES System Specialist to lead design, deployment, and optimization of the PASX MES landscape in Boxmeer. You will ensure system stability, drive continuous improvement, and collaborate with IT, engineering, and manufacturing to deliver compliant, high-impact solutions.

The role requires hands-on PASX experience, deep knowledge of data flows, and strong problem-solving in a regulated environment. Hybrid work and a competitive rewards package are offered.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD in Life Sciences, Biotechnology, Pharmacology, Information Systems, or related field.
• Extensive experience in regulated industries (pharma, biotech, food, or similar).
• Proven hands-on experience with Körber PASX MES systems, including Level 2-4 integrations.
• Strong understanding of manufacturing systems, data flows, and system integrations.
• Knowledge of GxP environments, validation processes, and compliance requirements.

• Monitor system performance and identify risks and improvement opportunities.
• Collaborate with vendors on system upgrades, integrations, and enhancements.
• Support end-users through training and on-floor assistance.
• Participate in cross-functional projects aligned with business objectives.

You will join a multidisciplinary team of IT, engineering, and manufacturing professionals who collaborate closely to support and optimize our Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES) landscape. About The Role

As an MES System Specialist, you are responsible for the analysis, design, implementation, and optimization of Manufacturing Execution Systems, with a strong focus on Körber’s PASX platform.

You play a critical role in supporting manufacturing operations by ensuring system stability, enabling continuous improvements, and driving innovation in digital manufacturing. You act as a technical expert and trusted partner to stakeholders across IT, engineering, and production. This is a dynamic role where system expertise, stakeholder engagement, and problem-solving come together to deliver high-impact solutions.

Key Responsibilities

Your profile

• Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD degree in Life Sciences, Biotechnology, Pharmacology, Information Systems, or a related field
• Extensive experience in regulated industries (pharma, biotech, food, or similar)
• Proven hands-on experience with Körber PASX MES systems, including integrations (Level 2-4)
• Strong understanding of manufacturing systems, data flows, and system integrations
• Knowledge of GxP environments, validation processes, and compliance requirements
• Experience with industrial data platforms and protocols (e.g., OPC UA, Aveva PI, Kepware)
• Strong knowledge of databases and query languages (e.g., Oracle, PostgreSQL)
• Understanding of OT/IT architectures (ISA-95 / ISA-99) and secure network design
• Familiarity with system infrastructure concepts (e.g., load balancing, failover clusters)
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills in complex manufacturing environments
• Experience in stakeholder management and cross-functional collaboration
• Fluent in English
• Experience with Agile methodologies
• Knowledge of Kubernetes, CI/CD pipelines, and containerized applications
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure)
• Scripting skills (PowerShell or Python)
