Job summary

Star in the Netherlands is seeking an experienced Mechanical Maintenance & Reliability Specialist to lead preventive maintenance planning and RCPS investigations across plant assets.

You will develop and implement corrosion management programs, support maintenance execution teams, and act as Mechanical Design Authority for equipment replacements, ensuring reliability targets are met.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• Knowledge of fixed equipment design, installation and maintenance (tanks, vessels, piping).
• Knowledge of rotating equipment design, installation and maintenance.
• Knowledge of predictive technologies: vibration monitoring, thermography, lubrication analysis, ultrasonic testing.
• Expert knowledge of Root Cause Problem Solving and Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA).
• Basic knowledge of Lean Six Sigma is an advantage.
• Minimum 5–8 years of Operations & Maintenance experience within a manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical expertise and reliability best practices; optimize preventive maintenance tasks.
• Lead RCPS investigations.
• Support the maintenance execution team with technical guidance.
• Provide technical support during emergency repairs and plant interventions.
• Provide technical knowledge and specs for new and replacement equipment, including during start-up.
• Implement Preventive Maintenance plans and Spare Parts strategies based on asset performance and compliance requirements.
• Review feedback from maintenance activities and inspections; propose corrective actions and improvements.
• Support and, where required, lead repairs and modifications in the plant.
• Provide day-to-day technical support to ensure effective delivery of maintenance tasks.
• Act as a key participant in Reliability Improvement programs.
• Perform second-level troubleshooting of field equipment issues and support significant equipment overhauls.
• Develop and implement corrosion management programs.
• Develop annual Preventive Maintenance plan with Reliability Engineer and asset targets.
• Work with Project Engineers to ensure maintainability and reliability of newly installed or modified equipment.
• Act as owner of the Mechanical Turnaround scope per area and execute discovery scoping.
• Prepare Fact Sheets for equipment replacement or renewal.
• Act as Mechanical Design Authority.
