Job summary

Roti Kitchen Utrecht is seeking an enthusiastic Independent Working Chef - I to join our kitchen team in Utrecht. No experience required; we will train you in traditional recipes and fast-paced takeaway kitchen skills while you work alongside a friendly, supportive team.

Holds an MBO level 3 diploma (level MBO 3) and can communicate in Dutch or English. Salary €2,700–€3,200 per month under the Dutch hospitality CAO.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of basic cooking techniques.
• Ability to work independently and handle stress.
• Dutch or English language skills.

Responsibilities

• Independently prepare lunch and dinner dishes.
• Carry out mise en place and prep tasks.
• Ensure the quality, taste and presentation of dishes.
• Manage inventory: ordering, receiving and checking products.
• Clean and maintain kitchen equipment and workspaces.
• Contribute ideas for recipes and menu improvements.
• Supervise compliance with regulations.

No experience required! Role: Independent working Chef - I

Key Tasks and Responsibilities:

• Independently prepare lunch and dinner dishes
• Carry out mise en place and other preparatory tasks (cutting, mixing, portioning)
• Ensure the quality, taste, and presentation of all dishes
• Apply and comply with HACCP and safety regulations
• Manage inventory: ordering, receiving, and checking products
• Clean and maintain kitchen equipment and workspaces
• Contribute ideas for recipes, menu updates, and more efficient processes
• Supervising compliance with regulations

We Are Looking for Someone Who:

• Holds an MBO level 3 diploma of work and thinking level MBO 3.
• Someone who has demonstrable knowledge of basic cooking techniques
• Shows initiative and can work independently
• Can handle stress and peak busy periods effectively
• Functions well within the dynamics of a restaurant team
• Speaks Dutch or English
• Is enthusiastic, dedicated, and eager to learn
