Job summary

Madurai Masala Cafe in Maarssen is seeking an Independent working Chef-I to lead kitchen operations and contribute to menu development. You will prepare ingredients, apply standard cooking techniques, supervise assistants, and maintain inventory and cleanliness in a vibrant Indian kitchen.

Qualifications

• MBO 3 level required.
• Demonstrable knowledge of basic cooking techniques.
• Speaks English or Dutch.

Responsibilities

• Prepares ingredients for dishes and checks product quality.
• Applies basic cooking techniques and presents dishes per recipes and quality standards.
• Carries out preparatory work (cutting, mixing) and performs intermediate quality controls.
• Responsible for inventory and order management; keeps kitchen and equipment clean.
• Supervises assistants and provides input on menus, menu cards, and methods.
• Contributes ideas for recipes, menu updates, and more efficient processes; ensures compliance with regulations.

We are looking for 4 motivated Independent working Chef-I.

Job Description and Tasks:

• Prepares the ingredients for the dishes and assess the quality of the products/ingredients.
• Applies basic cooking techniques, prepares and presents dishes according to recipes and quality standards.
• Carries out preparatory work (cutting, mixing, etc.) and intermediate quality controls.
• Is responsible for inventory and order management, and keeping the kitchen and equipment clean.
• Professionally supervises assistant(s) and provides input regarding the composition and modification of menus, the menu card, and methods.
• Contribute ideas for recipes, menu updates, and more efficient processes Supervising compliance with regulations and the work of the assistants.

Your Profile:

• MBO 3 working and thinking level.
• Someone who has demonstrable knowledge of basic cooking techniques.
• Speaks English or Dutch.
