Job summary

Andaz Amsterdam Prinsengracht is seeking a Housekeeping Team Leader to oversee the rooms division and uphold the highest standards of cleanliness in a five-star setting in central Amsterdam.

You will lead a motivated team, conduct daily briefings, manage scheduling, and collaborate across departments to enhance the guest experience while aligning with Hyatt’s brand promise and luxury service standards.

Qualifications

• Experience in the Rooms department, preferably in a supervisory role.
• Strong English communication; Dutch preferred.
• Familiarity with Opera and HotSos systems.
• Ability to lead a team and manage daily operations.

Responsibilities

• Supervising and coordinating the activities of the Housekeeping team.
• Ensuring the team delivers the brand promise and exceptional guest service.
• Inspecting guest rooms to ensure cleanliness meets hotel standards.
• Ensuring linens are handled and processed per priority and standards.
• Conducting briefings on occupancy, events, and special needs.
• Maximizing productivity through multi-skilling and flexible scheduling.
• Overseeing punctuality and appearance, ensuring proper uniform and hygiene.
• Developing team members through training, coaching and mentoring.

What does the ROLE entail?

• Supervising and coordinating the activities of the Housekeeping team;
• Ensuring team delivers the brand promise and provides exceptional guest service at all times;
• Examining all guest rooms, to ensure they are cleaned in accordance to the hotel’s standards;
• Ensuring all linens are handled and processed according to their priority and standards;
• Conducting briefings on room occupancy, daily events, and special attention that may be needed;
• Maximizing employee productivity through the use of multi-skilling, multi-tasking and flexible scheduling, to meet the financial goals of the business as well as the expectations of the guests;
• Overseeing the punctuality and appearance of the team, ensuring they wear the correct uniform and maintain a high standard of personal appearance and hygiene, as per Hotel’s standards;
• Maximizing the effectiveness of employees by developing each of their skills and abilities through the appropriate training, coaching, and/or mentoring;

Your EXPERIENCE

• Previous experience in the Rooms department, ideally in a similar position within a Hotel;
• Good communication skills in English and, preferably, in Dutch as well;
• You love being part of a big team, being encouraging, motivating and energetic;
• Knowledge of Opera and HotSos is welcome, as well as ability to work with Word and Excel;
• You are legally allowed to work in the Netherlands, holding an EU/EEA passport or a valid work permit for the country (we do not assist with Visa / permit applications).
• You love the world of hospitality, with all its quirks and excitement!
