Job summary

Andaz Amsterdam Prinsengracht is seeking a passionate Housekeeping Manager to lead our team and deliver the luxury experience our guests expect. You will oversee room and public area standards, conduct inspections, and partner with Front Office, Engineering and other departments to craft seamless stays.

With at least 2 years in a luxury hotel leadership role, you bring English fluency, strong organizational skills, and a hands-on, coaching style.

Qualifications

• At least 2 years leadership experience in luxury hotel housekeeping.
• Strong operational housekeeping knowledge and ability to train staff.
• Fluent English; Dutch language skills are a plus.
• EU/EEA passport or valid work permit required; visa sponsorship not provided.

Responsibilities

• Ensure Hyatt service standards and procedures are followed, delivering exceptional guest service.
• Ensure rooms and public areas reflect Andaz Amsterdam Prinsengracht luxury standards and personality.
• Conduct room inspections, including VIP arrivals and stay-overs, maintaining high quality.
• Collaborate with Front Office, Engineering, and other departments to create seamless guest journeys.
• Coordinate maintenance requests and maintain accurate records.
• Monitor guest feedback and online reviews to elevate experiences.
• Prepare schedules and attendance records for optimal productivity.
• Support recruitment, onboarding, training, and development of Housekeeping staff.

What does the ROLE entail?

Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

• Ensuring the team consistently delivers Hyatt service standards and procedures while fulfilling the brand promise and providing exceptional guest service;
• Ensuring every guest room and public area reflects the unique style, luxury standards, and personality of Andaz Amsterdam Prinsengracht;
• Conducting room inspections, including VIP arrivals and stay-over rooms, ensuring the highest quality standards are consistently maintained;
• Working closely with Front Office, Engineering, and other departments to create seamless and personalized guest journeys;
• Liaising with the Front Office regarding expected arrivals, early arrivals, VIP guests, room moves, turndown service, group arrivals, and special requests, while ensuring all information is properly communicated to the Housekeeping team;
• Coordinating maintenance requests, communicating with the Engineering Department, and maintaining accurate records;
• Monitoring guest feedback and online reviews, taking ownership of opportunities to elevate the guest experience;
• Preparing schedules and attendance records while ensuring optimal departmental productivity;
• Supporting the recruitment, onboarding, training, and development of Housekeeping colleagues through regular coaching, feedback, and performance reviews;
• Monitoring and controlling purchasing processes and maintaining effective stock control;
• Leading inspiring team briefings and creating an engaging, positive team culture built on care, inclusion, and excellence.

Qualifications

Your EXPERIENCE

• At least 2 years of leadership experience, ideally as an Assistant Housekeeping Manager or Housekeeping Manager within a luxury hotel environment;
• Strong operational Housekeeping experience and knowledge, with the ability to train, coach, and develop colleagues;
• Excellent communication skills in English; Dutch language skills are a plus;
• A degree in Hospitality, Tourism, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience;
• A flexible approach and the ability to adapt your schedule according to operational needs;
• Strong organizational, administrative, and project management skills;
• A genuine passion for luxury hospitality and creating memorable guest experiences;
• Legally authorized to work in the Netherlands, holding an EU/EEA passport or a valid work permit (please note that we do not provide visa or work permit sponsorship).
