Job summary

Andaz Amsterdam Prinsengracht is seeking a passionate Housekeeping Manager to lead our luxury housekeeping team and deliver personal, welcoming guest experiences that reflect the brand’s local spirit.

You will manage schedules, conduct room inspections, collaborate with Front Office, Engineering, and other departments, coach staff, monitor guest feedback, and maintain Hyatt standards. Fulltime position in the Netherlands.

Qualifications

• At least 2 years of leadership experience in a luxury hotel setting.
• Excellent communication skills in English; Dutch is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Ensure Hyatt service standards and brand promise in guest rooms and public areas.
• Conduct room inspections, including VIP arrivals and stay-overs.
• Collaborate with Front Office, Engineering, and other departments to create seamless guest journeys.
• Lead recruitment, onboarding, coaching, and development of housekeeping staff.
• Monitor purchasing, stock control, and manage schedules and attendance.

What does the ROLE entail?

Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

• Ensuring the team consistently delivers Hyatt service standards and procedures while fulfilling the brand promise and providing exceptional guest service;

• Ensuring every guest room and public area reflects the unique style, luxury standards, and personality of Andaz Amsterdam Prinsengracht;

• Conducting room inspections, including VIP arrivals and stay‑over rooms, ensuring the highest quality standards are consistently maintained;

• Working closely with Front Office, Engineering, and other departments to create seamless and personalized guest journeys;

• Liaising with the Front Office regarding expected arrivals, early arrivals, VIP guests, room moves, turndown service, group arrivals, and special requests, while ensuring all information is properly communicated to the Housekeeping team;

• Coordinating maintenance requests, communicating with the Engineering Department, and maintaining accurate records;

• Monitoring guest feedback and online reviews, taking ownership of opportunities to elevate the guest experience;

• Preparing schedules and attendance records while ensuring optimal departmental productivity;

• Supporting the recruitment, onboarding, training, and development of Housekeeping colleagues through regular coaching, feedback, and performance reviews;

• Monitoring and controlling purchasing processes and maintaining effective stock control;

• Leading inspiring team briefings and creating an engaging, positive team culture built on care, inclusion, and excellence.

Your EXPERIENCE

• At least 2 years of leadership experience, ideally as an Assistant Housekeeping Manager or Housekeeping Manager within a luxury hotel environment;

• Strong operational Housekeeping experience and knowledge, with the ability to train, coach, and develop colleagues;

• Excellent communication skills in English; Dutch language skills are a plus;

• A degree in Hospitality, Tourism, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience;

• A flexible approach and the ability to adapt your schedule according to operational needs;

• Strong organizational, administrative, and project management skills;

• A genuine passion for luxury hospitality and creating memorable guest experiences;

• Legally authorized to work in the Netherlands, holding an EU/EEA passport or a valid work permit (please note that we do not provide visa or work permit sponsorship).
