Job summary
Sympower is seeking a Head of Origination to drive growth of our Battery Energy Storage Solutions across Europe, with leadership of the origination team and senior relationships with developers, IPPs, and financial counterparties. You will shape commercial strategies, execute complex transactions, and collaborate with Trading, Finance, Risk and Legal to ensure bankable outcomes.
Headquartered in Amsterdam, we offer hybrid arrangements with regular travel across markets.
Qualifications
- 10+ years of experience in energy or power markets.
- Proven track record of originating, structuring and closing complex, high‑value contracts with sophisticated counterparties.
- Strong understanding of battery storage economics and revenue stacks.
- Experience leading a commercial team and running multiple live transactions in parallel.
- Excellent English communication skills.
- Passion for the energy transition and mission‑driven mindset.
Responsibilities
- Own and execute BESS origination strategy across active and expansion markets.
- Build and manage a high-value pipeline from sourcing to signature.
- Develop senior relationships with developers, IPPs, utilities, funds, insurers.
- Represent Sympower at major conferences.
- Maintain funnel with qualification criteria, pipeline hygiene, and forecasting.
- Lead commercial structuring and negotiation for route-to-market agreements.
- Guide pricing, deal structuring, and risk analysis with internal teams.
- Own outputs: heads of terms, term sheets, commercial schedules.
- Develop framework agreements with financial counterparties.
- Provide market feedback to Trading and inform pricing.
