Job summary

Vopak invites an accomplished Business Development Manager - Battery Energy Storage to join our BESS team in Breda. You will originate new projects globally, lead complex dealmaking from first contact to signed contracts, and build partnerships with utilities, developers and industrial clients across diverse geographies.

Based in Breda with regular international travel, you will drive expansion into new markets, navigate regulatory landscapes, and work within a hybrid model next to Breda

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Business Administration, Management, or a similarly relevant field.
• 10+ years of business development or commercial experience in international sustainable energy projects.
• Deep understanding of power markets and the challenges of the energy transition.
• Excellent stakeholder management, communication, and negotiation skills.
• Strong ability to connect with and adapt to different cultural backgrounds.
• Entrepreneurial mindset and a results-driven approach to building purpose-driven companies.
• Track record in leading complex transactions, potentially with a background in venture capital or investment.
• Fluency in English and Dutch.
• Willingness for frequent international travel for business development and partnership alignment.

Responsibilities

• Drive the development and investment in large-scale Battery Energy Storage Systems in new geographies through partnerships, M&A, greenfield and brownfield developments.
• Originate new business in the energy storage space across target regions and lead complex deal processes from the first contact to a signed deal.
• Build and grow partnerships with utilities, developers, and industrial clients to enter new markets with the right proposition.
• Navigate international markets and regulatory backgrounds, adapting to diverse cultural contexts to secure sustainable energy projects globally.
