Job summary

DHL Global Forwarding in Hoofddorp seeks a Customer Relations Specialist to be the primary contact for customers and the link between all parties in the import process.

You will liaise with customers, carriers, airlines, customs and internal teams, tracking shipments, resolving issues, and ensuring smooth end-to-end delivery in a 24/7 operation with rotating shifts and occasional weekends. A hybrid work option may emerge.

Qualifications

• Minimum MBO-level education.
• Fluent in Dutch and English.
• Experience in logistics or airfreight preferred.
• Security clearance (VGB) required.
• Willingness to work rotating shifts including weekends.

Responsibilities

• Manage import shipments from A to Z, from arrival to final delivery.
• Daily communication with customers, carriers, airlines, customs and internal teams.
• Proactively inform customers about shipment status and lead times.
• Administrative updates in CW1 and ensure accurate billing.
• Process rates, handle claims and identify improvement opportunities.
• Maintain strong customer relationships and spot commercial potential.
