Job summary

Jobtailor in Venlo, Netherlands, is seeking an enthusiastic logistics assistant to learn the ins and outs of our transportation operations. You will play a hands-on role in coordinating shipments, planning outbound journeys, and building relationships with drivers and partners.

The role emphasizes collaboration, learning, and proactive communication with customers and colleagues, with occasional weekend on-call duties to support weekend driver operations.

Qualifications

• Some knowledge of transport or a degree in logistics is a plus; if not, we are happy to teach you the trade.
• Willingness to participate in an on-call schedule a few weekends per year, as our drivers also operate during weekends.
• A good command of Dutch and English; German language skills are advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Plan and coordinate shipments to ensure timely delivery and efficient use of resources.
• Help to plan the outbound journey and think about smart return solutions.
• Build a strong network through close collaboration with colleagues and external partnerships.
• Support the planning of shipments for our own trailer fleet, ensuring accurate scheduling and load planning.
• Optimize routes, minimize mileage and maximize vehicle utilization.
• Proactively communicate with and inform customers, partners and drivers about status and changes.
• Monitor shipments and identify irregularities relating to loading, unloading and delivery activities.
• Support the team while learning the ins and outs of the business.

Requirements

• some knowledge of transport or a degree in logistics is a plus; if not, we are happy to teach you the trade
• willingness to participate in an on-call schedule a few weekends per year, as our drivers also operate during weekends, for example to the United Kingdom
• a good command of both Dutch and English. Do you also speak some German? That’s a definite advantage.
