Job summary

Harbor Restaurant in the Netherlands is seeking a Floor Supervisor to oversee daily restaurant operations on the floor and uphold our service standards. You’ll guide the service team and coordinate with kitchen and bar to ensure smooth, guest‑centered service.

Responsibilities include organizing shifts, monitoring hygiene and safety, training new staff, handling guest requests, and promoting the Harbor brand through professional conduct.

Qualifications

• Proven work experience in a supervisory role within hospitality.
• Strong knowledge of food and beverage service standards and restaurant operations.
• Fluent in English, Spanish, Dutch, and Papiamentu.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate daily Front of the House operations and support communication with the Back of the House.
• Ensure a welcoming atmosphere and deliver superior guest service to maximize customer satisfaction.
• Respond promptly and professionally to guest requests and complaints, escalating to the Senior Floor Supervisor or Management when necessary.
• Organize and supervise shifts, including task allocation and break schedules.
• Ensure efficient floor operation while maintaining high standards of productivity, quality, and customer service.
• Lead by example on the floor and support the team during busy periods in our fast-paced environment.
• Ensure compliance with sanitation, hygiene, and safety regulations on the floor.
• Monitor staff appearance, punctuality, and adherence to restaurant policies, and report any issues to the Senior Floor Supervisor or Management.
• Assist in maintaining updated personnel records related to floor staff (e.g. GGD Kaart and other compliance-related documents) as directed.
• Support the training and onboarding of new employees on service standards, menu knowledge, and customer service practices.
• Help maintain the restaurant’s image and ambiance, ensuring tables, stations, and guest areas are clean, organized, and presentable.
• Promote the brand through professional behavior, consistent service, and positive interaction with guests.
• Assist with in-house events, private bookings, and holiday promotions by coordinating with the kitchen, bar, and service teams to ensure smooth execution.
• Assist with petty cash and basic monetary duties as assigned by the Senior Floor Supervisor or Management.
• Provide feedback from the floor to the Senior Floor Supervisor and Management on guest experience, staff performance, and operational challenges.
• Implement and uphold restaurant policies, procedures, and protocols on the floor.
• Perform other related tasks as required.
