Job summary

NH Collection Vermeer in Amsterdam is seeking an experienced sommelier to lead wine service in the restaurant and collaborate with the kitchen on pairings. You will cultivate a refined wine experience and guide guests with thoughtful recommendations.

With a focus on memorable hospitality, you will deliver personable service, coordinate with the chef on pairings, and strive to leave guests eager to return. Fluent English required; Dutch is a plus.

Qualifications

• At least 2 years of experience as assistant sommelier in a fine dining restaurant.
• MBO 4 diploma Hotel School or equivalent.
• Affinity for wine and wine certificates.
• Good organizational and communication skills.
• Fluent English; Dutch is an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the link between kitchen and service team to ensure seamless wine service.
• Create and present a unique wine menu with exciting pairings.
• Provide guests with subtle, personable service and wine recommendations.
• Strive to leave guests with memorable experiences and encourage return visits.
