Job summary

Mistral is seeking a Technical Lead, Applied AI to drive strategy, execution, and delivery of enterprise AI solutions. You will guide Applied AI Engineers, ensure scalable deployments, and collaborate with research, product, and engineering teams to shape offerings.

You will bridge AI research and real-world applications, ensuring robust systems aligned with customer needs and Mistral’s product vision.

Qualifications

You are fluent in English and hold an advanced degree in AI/ML/CS.
You have 7/8+ years of AI/ML experience with 2+ years in a technical leadership role.
You have led teams to deliver complex AI projects from prototyping to production.
You possess deep expertise in fine-tuning LLMs, RAG, agentic systems, and NLP deployment at scale.
You are proficient with Python, PyTorch and modern AI frameworks; cloud experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

Deliver as an IC critical code for complex projects, with hands-on involvement.
Lead technical teams of Applied AI Engineers, offering mentorship and best practices.
Lead technical discussions during pre-sales, translating requirements into solutions.
Design and oversee implementation of complex AI systems, including fine-tuning and deployment.
Drive innovation by evaluating emerging AI tools and methodologies.
Collaborate with product managers, researchers, and engineers to align with roadmap.
