Job summary

Ampowr, headquartered in Utrecht, is building a global energy trading and optimization platform. We are looking for a Business Development Manager to own the commercial go-to-market, engage NL and international clients, and drive growth of our Energy Trading & Optimization product.

You bring 5–10 years in energy markets, fluent Dutch, and an entrepreneurial mindset to write the playbook, secure deals, and scale with the Energy Trading team across Europe.

Qualifications

• 5–10 years in the energy industry or equivalent business development experience.
• Fluent in spoken and written Dutch.
• Deep knowledge of energy markets, balancing markets and/or ancillary services.
• Comfortable analyzing simulation results and business cases.
• Full driving license (B).
• Keeps up with market, technical, and regulatory developments.
• Experience in a scale-up or startup environment with a track record of building from scratch (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Build the commercial proposition: sharpen Ampowr's go-to-market for energy trading and optimization software.
• Drive new business: own the full sales cycle from prospecting to close.
• Shape market presence: own pitch materials, presentations, and thought leadership; represent Ampowr in the market.
• Accelerate international expansion: scale from the Netherlands into new European markets; adapt commercial approach to local dynamics.
