Job summary

Settly BV is seeking a proactive Housing Specialist to build our housing practice for international employees relocating to the Netherlands, with a focus on Den Haag and Rotterdam.

You will own end-to-end housing searches, coordinate viewings, negotiate leases, and contribute to process improvements as part of our growing team. The role blends hands-on operations with relationship management and market insight.

Qualifications

• 2–5 years of experience within the Dutch housing market.
• Strong communication skills and ability to build trust with clients and partners.
• Excellent customer service and a genuine desire to help others.
• Proactive, solution‑driven mindset with creative problem solving.
• Strong organisational skills; ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Comfortable working independently while collaborating across teams.
• Clear, confident communication; able to negotiate on behalf of transferees.
• Native‑level English (spoken and written).
• Living in or around Den Haag or Rotterdam; full drivers license.

Responsibilities

• Accompany transferees to viewings in person or host video viewings for those abroad.
• Review lease agreements, negotiate terms with landlords and agents, guide through deposits, check‑in and inventory, and registering at the new address.
• Advise on temporary and long‑term housing; set realistic expectations about the Dutch rental market.
• Build and maintain a strong network of landlords, agents, housing providers and other partners.
• Manage housing vendors and monitor quality, availability and service levels.
• Handle escalations and complex housing situations with professionalism and empathy.
• Brief HR and talent acquisition teams on market developments, regulations and what to expect.
• Advise colleagues on housing questions and coordinate with Relocation and Customer Success teams.
• Stay up to date with the Dutch housing market and rental legislation.
• Help design housing processes, templates and tools, and spot opportunities to improve transferee experience.
