Job summary

Rabobank is recruiting a Crisis Communication Officer in the Major Incident Communication team. In this role you will use crisis communication, stakeholder management, reputation management, copywriting and IT landscape knowledge to provide accurate information to colleagues, customers and other stakeholders during major incidents.

The position is 36 hours per week with 24/7 standby shifts roughly every five weeks, and offers a hybrid working arrangement with a balance between home and office.

Qualifications

• At least five years of experience in communications and stakeholder management.
• A bachelor’s degree or higher.
• Fluency in spoken and written Dutch and English.
• Strong communication skills and stakeholder sensitivity.
• The ability to remain calm and work effectively under pressure.
• A proactive, quality-focused and results-driven approach.
• Flexibility to participate in 24/7 stand‑by shifts approximately once every five weeks.

Responsibilities

• Prioritise major incidents and assess their communication requirements, so that the right actions and messages can start without delay.
• Create and distribute clear and consistent internal and external communications throughout an incident.
• Liaise with stakeholders across technology, business, customer care and leadership teams to maintain an accurate flow of information and support effective decision‑making.
• Improve crisis communication processes, tools and stakeholder engagement to strengthen organisational resilience.
• Manage stakeholder expectations while balancing speed, clarity and the potential impact of communications.
