Job summary

Hotelprofessionals - Andaz Amsterdam Prinsengracht is seeking a Chef de Partie for our Prins & Aap bar/bistro concept in Amsterdam. You will develop, produce and present à-la-carte dishes with a focus on Mediterranean flavors, leading a dedicated station and team.

You will ensure recipes are followed, waste is minimized and guests’ culinary expectations are exceeded. Flexibility and a proactive attitude are essential in this vibrant Hyatt-adjacent environment.

Qualifications

• 1 year of experience as Chef de Partie or 2–3 years as Demi Chef de Partie in an à-la-carte restaurant or luxury hotel with high standards.
• Diploma in food production/culinary arts or equivalent on-the-job training.
• Love for Mediterranean cuisine and fresh, local ingredients.
• Demonstrated leadership and ability to work well in a team.
• Schedule flexibility due to varying operational needs.
• HACCP knowledge and practices.
• Creativity, motivation and hands-on mentality.
• International mindset with good English (Dutch preferred).
• Legally allowed to work in the Netherlands (EU/EEA passport or valid work permit).

Responsibilities

• Develop, produce and present a la carte items with the team.
• Oversee the assigned station and its staff, maintain high standards and cleanliness.
• Follow standard recipes and minimize waste to meet budgeted costs.
• Suggest alternative menu items and fulfill special customer requests.
• Collaborate with other departments in a supportive manner.
• Stay updated on seasonal and new product availability.
• Handle equipment and supplies carefully to reduce damage.
