Job summary

Amsterdam UMC Research BV invites a precise and enthusiastic research technician to join the biobank team in the META‑IMMUNOTYPES project. You will manage the day-to-day biobanking of human samples, ensure traceability and data integrity, and support SOP improvement within a collaborative, international research setting.

The role requires a completed MBO/HBO lab education or equivalent, hands-on lab experience with human samples, and strong English/Dutch communication.

Qualifications

• Completed MBO/HBO laboratory education or equivalent in biomedical or life sciences.
• Experience with laboratory work, preferably processing human biological material.
• Accurate, structured and reliable way of working with strong organizational skills.
• Affinity with sample administration, documentation and quality-controlled procedures.
• Ability to work independently and in a multidisciplinary team with good English/Dutch communication.

Responsibilities

• Receiving, processing, registering, storing and retrieving human biological samples, mainly blood.
• Maintaining accurate sample records, traceability and an organized sample inventory in the biobank database.
• Preparing samples for research projects and coordinating sample logistics with researchers and clinical departments.
• Writing, maintaining and improving SOPs and biobank documentation, contributing to quality control and continuous improvement.
• Supporting general laboratory organization and related experimental work in ongoing projects.
