Job summary

Park Plaza Victoria Amsterdam in Amsterdam is seeking a Chef Apprentice (BBL) to learn under our kitchen team, gaining hands-on experience across breakfast, events, and Carstens Steakhouse while developing culinary skills. You will work with experienced chefs, follow HACCP guidelines, and grow in a supportive environment.

Enrolment in a Dutch BBL chef programme and a passion for food are required; Dutch language skills are a plus.

Qualifications

• Passion for food, cooking and hospitality required.
• Willingness to learn and develop new skills.
• Ability to work well within a team environment.

Responsibilities

• Assist with the preparation and presentation of dishes according to recipes and quality standards.
• Learn and apply culinary techniques under the guidance of experienced chefs.
• Support the kitchen team with mise en place and daily preparation tasks.
• Maintain cleanliness and organisation of workstations and kitchen equipment.
• Follow food safety, hygiene, and HACCP procedures at all times.
• Assist in receiving, storing, and rotating kitchen stock correctly.
• Support breakfast, lunch, dinner, banqueting, and event operations as required.
• Contribute to a positive and collaborative team environment.
• Continuously develop culinary knowledge and practical cooking skills.
