Job summary

AIT Worldwide Logistics is seeking an Operations Agent Gateway (Import/Export) to optimize shipments for local and international clients, mainly by air. You will develop relationships with internal customers, provide pricing and service solutions, and book with suppliers while ensuring regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years’ experience as an Air Freight Forwarder.
• Utilizes established procedures but decides action within task.
• Must be able to perform in a fast pace / high volume work environment.
• Attention to detail.
• Problem solving.
• Fluent oral and written English is a must.
• Strong PC skills (Windows, Microsoft Office applications) preferred.
• CargoWise software experience a plus.
• ITAR, Dangerous Goods or TSA work experience / regulations.
• VGB security clearance (or the ability to obtain it) is required for this position.

Responsibilities

• Research and plan the most appropriate route for shipment.
• Obtain, check and prepare documentation to meet customs requirements, packaging speculations and compliance with overseas countries’ regulations.
• Liaise with third parties in accordance with customer requirements.
• Assisting the client in the event of claim.
• Maintain visibility and control through all phases of the journey, including the unit cost analysis.
• Complete customs formalities or subcontracting services.
• Prepare files for invoicing.
• Coordinate recovery/delivery schedules with various cartage agents and international partners.
• Partner with local sales and account management teams to communicate problems to customers, international partners, and other stations, as needed.
• Ensure all customers’ SOP instructions are adhered to and AIT KPIs and guidelines are followed and met.
• Ensure all shipments are properly billed within company guidelines and timelines.
• Process and comply with all requirements listed by regulatory agencies.
• Execute all Dangerous Goods shipments in compliance with all applicable laws and regulations.
• Contribute actively to a healthy and secure work environment by reporting unsafe/ unsecure/ unhealthy conditions and possible improvements
