TORQ Service Centre, a fleet-first commercial vehicle workshop, seeks a purchaser/admin assistant to bridge workshop operations and purchasing. You will liaise with parts suppliers, raise purchase orders, reconcile billing with job cards, and help with stock logging using the workshop system.
Based in Butterworth, you will support daily workshop coordination and back up the purchasing coordinator as needed.
About the role:
TORQ Service Centre is a fleet-first commercial vehicle workshop serving corporate fleets and logistics operators. We're building out our operations team and need someone who understands how a workshop actually runs — not just data entry.
What you'll do:
Liaise directly with parts suppliers — pricing, availability, delivery coordination
Raise and track Purchase Orders
Enter billing and reconcile against job cards
Support parts stock in/out logging (workshop management system)
Work alongside our purchasing coordinator as backup during leave/absence — this role and that one cover each other
Assist with day-to-day workshop coordination as needed
What we're looking for:
Experience in an auto parts counter, OEM parts store, or workshop purchasing/admin role — this is a must, not a nice-to-have
Understands basic lubricant/parts specs (e.g. difference between gear oil grades) or willing to be trained rigorously and tested before working solo
Comfortable liaising with suppliers directly, not just processing paperwork
Reliable, detail-oriented — errors on parts orders cost real money in this industry
Based in or able to commute to Butterworth/Mak Mandin daily
