Carsem in Ipoh seeks an experienced Wire Bond Section Manager to lead section operations, drive engineering excellence, and oversee day-to-day wire bonding performance. You will balance technical depth in automated bonding systems with people leadership to hit production goals.
Responsibilities include capacity planning, process stability, CAPA and RCA, yield and quality improvements, and NPI qualification.
We are looking for an experienced Wire Bond Section Manager to lead section operations, drive engineering excellence, and oversee day-to-day wire bonding performance. This role requires a strong balance of technical depth in automated bonding systems, process yield optimization, capacity management, and team leadership.
Key Responsibilities
Section Management & Operations: Lead section workforce planning, production scheduling, capacity management, and cross-functional coordination with Production, Quality, and Maintenance teams to meet output targets.
Process & Equipment Performance: Oversee wirebond process stability, equipment utilization, machine capability (Cpk), and Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE).
Technical Troubleshooting & RCA: Guide engineering and technical teams on deep troubleshooting of process and machine issues; implement robust Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPA).
Yield Improvement & Quality: Analyze section yield trends, drive root cause analysis (FMEA, SPC, 8D), and lead quality improvement projects.
NPI & Process Qualification: Oversee New Product Introduction (NPI) setup, process characterizations, and qualification activities within the section.
Job Requirements
Education: Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Electrical, Electronics, Mechanical, Manufacturing, Materials, or related field).
Experience: 5 to 8+ years of experience in wire bond process/equipment engineering, NPI, and section or team management within a high-volume manufacturing setting.
Technical Expertise:
Strong knowledge of automated wire bond equipment (e.g., Kulicke & Soffa / K&S, ASM, or similar systems).
In-depth understanding of process troubleshooting, root cause analysis tools, SPC, FMEA, and quality improvement methodologies.
Management & Leadership: Proven track record in workforce planning, production scheduling, capacity management, and cross-functional leadership.
Certifications (Added Advantage): Six Sigma Green/Black Belt or related continuous improvement certifications.
