Job summary

TTLIM Engineering Sdn Bhd is seeking a skilled Welding Technician to join our team in Simpang Ampat, Penang. This full-time role involves installation, maintenance, repair and troubleshooting of metal equipment, especially material handling equipment.

You will assemble and install material handling systems, perform preventive maintenance, troubleshoot issues and keep detailed service records. A strong welding background, drawing interpretation, and safety mindset are essential for success.

Qualifications

• Formal welding qualification or certification is preferred.
• SPM with credit in English and Maths required.
• Strong knowledge of welding techniques and ability to read technical drawings.
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Commitment to workplace safety and quality.

Responsibilities

• Assemble and install material handling equipment involving welding.
• Carry out preventive maintenance and repairs on material handling equipment (e.g., cranes, hoists, dock levellers).
• Perform routine maintenance to minimize downtime.
• Troubleshoot and repair metal works to keep equipment running.
• Maintain detailed records of all work performed.
• Collaborate with engineering team for smooth operation of equipment.
• Adhere to health and safety regulations and best practices.

About the role

We are seeking a skilled Welding Technician to join our team at TTLIM Engineering Sdn Bhd in Simpang Ampat, Penang. As a full-time Welding Technician, you will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, repair and troubleshooting of metal equipment, especially material handling equipment.

What you'll be doing

• Responsible for assembling and installation of for material handling equipments that involve welding works
• Assist in carrying out preventive maintenance and repairs for material handling equipments such as overhead travelling crane, goods hoist, scissors lift, dockleveller etc.
• Perform preventative and routine maintenance on material handling equipments
• Troubleshooting and repairing metal works to ensure minimal downtime to material handling equipments
• Maintain detailed records of all work performed
• Collaborate with the engineering team to ensure the smooth and efficient operation for material handling equipment
• Adhere to all health and safety regulations and best practices

What we're looking for

• Formal qualification in Welding or relevant technical certification or diploma or welder's certification preferred
• At least SPM qualification with credit in English and Maths
• Strong technical knowledge of welding techniques
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
• Strong attention to detail and a commitment to quality and efficient work
• Good communication and teamwork skills
• Commitment to workplace safety and quality of work
• Able to work independently
• Dynamic, hardworking, self motivated, dedicated and good sense of responsibility
• Electrical knowledge would be an added advantage
