Job summary

HORIZONTECH INDUSTRIES SDN BHD in Perai, Penang, is seeking a skilled Robot Arm Welder for a full-time role on-site. You will program, operate, and maintain robotic welding systems, ensuring quality, efficiency, and safety of welded components in our production lines.

You will collaborate with production and engineering teams to optimise welding parameters, document maintenance and production metrics, and train junior welders on robot arm systems.

Qualifications

• Proven experience operating and programming industrial robot arms in a manufacturing environment, with preference for welding applications.
• Strong knowledge of welding processes, techniques, and quality standards relevant to industrial manufacturing.
• Technical proficiency with electrical and mechanical systems, including ability to diagnose and resolve equipment malfunctions.

Responsibilities

• Programming and configuring industrial robot arms to perform welding operations according to engineering specifications and quality standards
• Operating robotic welding equipment and monitoring performance throughout production cycles to ensure consistent quality output
• Conducting routine maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs on robot arm systems and associated welding equipment
• Inspecting welded components for defects, dimensional accuracy, and surface quality, documenting findings and implementing corrective actions
• Collaborating with production supervisors and engineering teams to optimise welding parameters and improve efficiency
• Maintaining detailed records of welding operations, maintenance activities, and production metrics
• Following all health, safety, and environmental protocols to maintain a secure workplace
• Training junior welders and operators on robot arm systems and best practices
• Identifying opportunities for process improvements and contributing to continuous improvement initiatives

About the role HORIZONTECH INDUSTRIES SDN BHD is seeking a skilled Robot Arm Welder to join our engineering team in Perai, Penang. This is a full-time position that plays a crucial role in our manufacturing operations. As a Robot Arm Welder, you will be responsible for programming, operating, and maintaining robotic welding systems that are integral to our production processes. This role is essential to ensuring the quality, efficiency, and safety standards of our welded components and assemblies. You will work on-site at our Perai facility, collaborating with production teams to deliver precision welding solutions that meet our clients' specifications and deadlines.

What we're looking for

• Technical proficiency with electrical and mechanical systems, including ability to diagnose and resolve equipment malfunctions
• Certification or qualification in welding, robotics, or industrial engineering from a recognised institution
• Experience with robotic welding software and teach pendants
• Excellent attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high-quality output standards
• Strong problem-solving abilities and mechanical aptitude
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, specifications, and manuals
• Good communication skills and ability to work effectively within a team environment
• Physical capability to perform manual tasks and work in an industrial manufacturing setting
• Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles or continuous improvement methodologies is desirable
• Experience with ISO 9001 or similar quality management systems is advantageous
