Job summary

Perfex International seeks a skilled welder to fabricate and repair metal components using MIG, TIG and Arc welding. You will read blueprints, set up machines, and ensure high-quality welds per specifications.

You will inspect finished welds, identify defects, and perform necessary repairs while maintaining strict safety practices and a clean, organized workspace in a manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

• Reading blueprints, sketches, and specifications to determine job requirements.
• Selecting the correct welding equipment, method, and metal materials for the task.
• Setting up and calibrating welding machines (adjusting voltage, amperage, wire feed).
• Cleaning and preparing metal surfaces to ensure a strong weld.
• Using MIG, TIG, Stick, and Flux-Cored welding techniques.

Job description

To join, fabricate, and repair metal components by melting and fusing materials using heat and various welding techniques.

Key Responsibilities:

Reading and interpreting blueprints, sketches, and specifications (often called "shop drawings") to determine the job requirements.

Selecting the correct welding equipment, method, and metal materials for the specific task.

Setting up and calibrating welding machines (eg. adjusting voltage, amperage, and wire feed speed).

Cleaning and preparing metal surfaces by removing rust, scale, or grease to ensure a strong weld.

Using various welding techniques (eg. MIG, TIG, Stick, Flux-Cored) to join metal parts.

Operating manual or semi-automatic welding equipment in vertical, horizontal, or overhead positions.

Fabricating new metal structures, frames, or components according to specifications.

Aligning components and clamping pieces into place before welding.

Inspecting completed welds for accuracy, strength, and compliance with codes and standards.

Detecting flaws in welds (such as porosity, cracks, or undercutting) and making necessary repairs.

Cleaning and smoothing welds by grinding, chipping, and filing to achieve a quality finish.

Safety and Maintenance:

Following strict safety protocols, including the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) like helmets, gloves, and fire-resistant clothing.

Maintaining a clean and safe work area to prevent fires and accidents.

Performing routine maintenance on welding equipment and machinery to ensure they are in safe working order.

Key Skills:

Welding skills: MIG, TIG, and Arc welding

Ability to read and interpret technical & welding drawings

Knowledge of Welding Procedure Specification (WPS)

Basic understanding of weld quality standards and inspection

Familiar with production workflow and shopfloor operations

Strong safety awareness and PPE compliance

Good communication and reporting skills

Ability to troubleshoot basic welding defects
