Greatech Integration (M) Sdn Bhd in Penang is seeking a Welding Supervisor to oversee welding and fabrication operations, drive quality, and lead continuous improvement initiatives. You will set up welding processes, review blueprints, train welders, and ensure compliance with ISO standards and safety requirements.

Qualifications

• Diploma in Welding Fabrication or equivalent years of related experience.
• Minimum 5-8 years experience in welding field with leadership exposure.
• Able to train welders (TIG/MIG) and think quickly to solve problems.

Responsibilities

• Supervises and coordinates welding and cutting activities, applying welding knowledge and equipment rules.
• Analyses work orders and blueprints to determine supplies and operation sequence.
• Inspects work to maintain quality and specified standards.
• Sets up machines or runs trial welds for test products and processes.
• Supervises fitting and assembly of structural frames in welding.
• Investigates quality issues and issues Non-Conformance Reports to prevent repeats.
• Performs general maintenance, fabrication, installation and repair tasks as required.
• Oversees production to ensure parts meet tolerance and quality standards.
• Determines equipment, tools and welding methods for each project.
• Complies with ISO requirements and safety practices and company SOPs.
• Leads continuous improvement in manufacturing, safety, quality, throughput, and costs.
• Conducts weekly safety, 5S, and layered audits.

Job description

• Supervises and coordinates activities of workers engaged in welding and cutting of products and structures, applying knowledge of welding and cutting techniques, materials, and equipment, and fabrication requirements.
• Analyses work orders and blueprints to determine need for supplies and sequence of operations required.
• Inspects work and maintains specified standards and quality.
• Set up machines or make trial welds to make test runs and experimental products.
• Supervise fitting and assembly of structural frames in welding.
• Investigated quality issues and issued Non-Conformance Reports as necessary in order to prevent repeat issues.
• Performing general maintenance activities, structural fabrication, installation and repair.
• Oversaw production to the adherence parts were in tolerance and acceptable quality standards.
• Determined equipment, tools and welding methods for each welding project.
• Other duties and assignments as instructed by superiors from time to time.
• To comply with all requirements of ISO (inclusive of all standards approved by the Management) and to adhere to general safety practices, standard operating procedure, work instructions, policies and guidelines provided by the company.
• Lead continuous improvement efforts in manufacturing, safety, quality, throughput, delivery, and operating costs.
• Perform weekly safety inspections, 5s inspections, Layered Audits.

Requirements:
