Job summary

We are seeking a skilled Welder / Welding Technician to join our team in Johor. The ideal candidate has an engineering background and hands-on experience in TIG welding, producing high-quality welds according to drawings and tolerances.

The role involves reading drawings, setting up and operating welding equipment, inspecting welds, and collaborating with Engineering and Production teams to meet production targets. Attention to detail and safe, efficient work are essential.

Qualifications

• Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• 3+ years experience in welding, fabrication, or precision engineering.
• Able to read engineering/technical drawings.
• Experience with TIG welding preferred.
• Attention to detail and precision.

Responsibilities

• Perform TIG welding and other welding processes as required.
• Read and interpret engineering drawings, technical drawings, and welding symbols.
• Maintain quality, dimensions, and tolerances of welds.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform TIG welding and other welding processes as required
• Read and interpret engineering drawings, technical drawings, and welding symbols
• Perform precision welding on components requiring high accuracy and tight tolerances
• Ensure welding work meets specified quality standards, dimensions, and tolerances
• Set up and operate welding equipment safely and efficiently
• Inspect finished welds for quality, accuracy, and defects
• Perform grinding, finishing, and other related fabrication work when required
• Work closely with the Engineering and Production teams to meet production requirements
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized working environment
• Follow company safety procedures and quality standards

Key Requirements

• Minimum Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Welding Technology, or a related field
• Minimum 3 years of relevant working experience in welding, fabrication, or a precision engineering environment
• Able to read and interpret engineering and technical drawings
• Good understanding of welding processes, materials, measurements, and tolerances
• Strong attention to detail with a high level of precision and accuracy
• Able to use measuring instruments such as vernier calipers, micrometers, and other precision measuring tools
• Good problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
• Able to work independently and as part of a team
• Experience with stainless steel, aluminium, or precision components will be an added advantage
