Job summary

PT Indo Partners Plantation Services seeks a Visiting Engineer based in Pontianak, Indonesia. The incumbent will visit mills to provide independent reporting on mill status, procedures, safety, security, quality and cost control, and administrative management.

They will audit operations for SOP conformity, promote RSPO/ISPO best practices, coach staff, transfer know-how, and travel frequently to facilities as required. Expatriates are welcome and travel is extensive.

Qualifications

Visiting Engineer (VE) - Based in Pontianak, Indonesia

The Visiting Engineer (VE) are representative of the Management Board of the company and are tasked to visit Mills periodically. They are to provide an independent, unbiased and objective report on the current status of the mill management in respect to the field condition and company standards, effectiveness of operating procedures including safety practices and security control, quality and cost control as well as the general administrative management of the establishment.

The report shall also contain an analysis of variances against the targets set both on production and cost. It is also to verify what have been achieved are reflective of the accounts and monthly reports.

The report shall also highlight any shortcomings observed in the course of their inspection and this shall include any deviation of the company policies or breach of prevailing laws and regulations of either government or statutory organizations of which may be threatening to environmental issues and social harmony. This is also to safeguard the image and reputation of the company.

VE shall audit and review to ensure that all operations are conforming to the standard operating procedures (SOP) of the company. VE shall promote and emphasize that the best practices are to be implemented in line with the Agriculture Policy as well as the criteria set by the RSPO or ISPO in order to uphold the principle of sustainable palm oil.

VE shall act as advisor, coach to teach and provide guidance to the staff and supervisory workers on the mill. They shall endeavor to transfer their technical knowledge and know-how to improve the people’s basic mill management capability and skill. The VE shall provide the necessary motivation to enhance the training and learning process.

Job Requirements :

Possess at least Bachelor's Degree or Master's Degree in any field of Engineering or equivalent.

At least 20 - 25 years of working experience in the Palm oil Plantation industry is required for this position of which at least 8 years should be in the senior management level.

Proficient in written and spoken Bahasa Indonesia and English.

Professional expatriate much welcomed.

Physically fit to conduct extensive field walk visits.

Experience in conducting feasibility studies for property acquisition.

Good analytical and business acumen skills.

Willing and able to travel frequently.

Willing to be based in Pontianak, West Kalimantan.
