Mill Optimization Services (MOS) in Indonesia seeks a seasoned MOS Head to drive continuous improvement across CPO mills. The role partners with executive leadership to define and execute high-impact optimization strategies, enhancing oil recovery, efficiency, and sustainability.
You will lead technical teams, set SOPs, oversee CapEx evaluations, and translate complex metrics into concise board-ready briefs.

The Mill Optimization Services (MOS) Head is a senior leadership role tasked with driving continuous operational efficiency, productivity, and sustainability across Crude Palm Oil (CPO) mills. Serving as a key technical Subject Matter Expert, the MOS Head will collaborate directly with executive leadership to formulate and execute high-impact mill optimization strategies.
1. Strategic Mill Optimization & Performance
Develop and execute short- and long-term technical strategies to maximize CPO recovery rates, oil extraction rates (OER), and kernel extraction rates (KER).
Review current mill operations, identify potential process bottlenecks, and introduce best-in-class technical solutions to minimize oil losses and reduce downtime.
Champion energy efficiency, water conservation, and sustainable operational practices across all processing units.
Sit alongside executive leadership to provide clear, data-driven, and actionable recommendations for mill improvements.
Translate complex engineering and operational metrics into strategic executive briefs and board-level presentations.
Advise on capital expenditure (CapEx) projects, evaluating new technology, equipment upgrades, and automation initiatives for maximum ROI.
3. Operational Excellence & Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
Standardize mill operations by updating and enforcing rigorous SOPs, preventive maintenance frameworks, and quality control protocols.
Mentor, train, and build technical capabilities among regional mill managers and engineering teams.
Improvement in overall Oil Extraction Rate (OER) and Kernel Extraction Rate (KER).
Reduction in operating cost per MT of CPO produced.
Unscheduled mill downtime reduction.
Successful implementation of sustainable/green energy initiatives (e.g., biogas, biomass efficiency).
Bachelor's degree preferably in Mechanical, Chemical, or Agricultural Engineering (or equivalent technical field). Master's degree is a plus.
Proven track record (15+ years preferred) in palm oil mill engineering, operations, and technical service management.
Demonstrated experience operating at a senior management or executive advisory level within a major plantation/CPO group is an advantage.
Excellent ability to communicate complex technical concepts in a clear, concise, and execution-ready manner.
Preferably, able to communicate in both English and Bahasa Indonesia (written and spoken) to manage executive reporting and work with operational teams effectively.
International background preferred, with extensive field experience across Southeast Asian palm oil markets (Malaysia/Indonesia).
Open to be based (full-time) in Indonesia.
