Job summary

Smiths Detection is seeking a Production Technician to support swab production and related lab-based activities. You will operate automated equipment, perform quality checks, and assist with assembly and calibrant preparation.

The role requires rotating across production functions on a shift basis to meet operational needs. Applicants should have a Diploma or equivalent and at least 3 years of manufacturing experience, with strong mechanical skills and a proactive approach to problem-solving.

Qualifications

• Diploma or equivalent qualification.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Experience with automated production machinery is highly preferred.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to troubleshoot equipment.

Responsibilities

• Operate and monitor automated machinery for swab production and packaging.
• Perform basic machine maintenance and blade changes; troubleshoot errors.
• Record production outputs and quality results accurately.
• Support component assembly and calibrant preparation activities.
• Maintain inventory accuracy and traceability of raw materials.
• Rotate between production areas as required by operations.
• Maintain clean, safe, and organized work environment.
• Participate in continuous improvement initiatives for efficiency and safety.
