Job summary

Solarvest seeks a seasoned Business Development leader to drive the growth of its utility-scale solar projects in Malaysia. You will identify and secure new opportunities, build partnerships with utilities, regulators, and industry players, and guide proposal development to meet regulatory and technical specs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business Administration or related field required; Master’s preferred.
• 5+ years in business development or related field within utility or renewable energy sectors.
• Proven ability to close high-value contracts and build strategic partnerships.
• Strong understanding of regulatory frameworks, market dynamics and trends in utilities.
• Excellent communication, negotiation and presentation skills; travel may be required.

Responsibilities

• Lead growth of Solarvest's utility-scale solar projects through effective business development strategies.
• Identify, evaluate, and secure new business opportunities within the utility sector, including partnerships and government projects.
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including utility companies, regulatory bodies, and industry partners.
• Oversee the proposal development process for utility projects, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and technical specifications.
• Analyze market trends, competitor activities, and policy changes to inform business strategies and identify growth opportunities.
• Work closely with internal teams, including engineering, finance, and legal, to ensure the successful execution and delivery of projects.
• Present project proposals, business cases, and updates to senior management and potential clients.
• Monitor project performance and provide strategic guidance to align with company objectives.
• Actively participate in industry conferences and networking events to promote Solarvest and its utility offerings.
