Job summary

SMT Technologies Sdn Bhd, based in Batu Kawan, Penang, seeks a Technical Trainer to design, develop and deliver manufacturing process training. You will conduct hands-on sessions for engineers, technicians and operators, and create SOPs, work instructions, manuals and visual aids.

The role requires coordinating with engineering, quality, safety and production leaders to close skill gaps and support new equipment launches.

Qualifications

• Diploma/Degree in Engineering or related field is required.
• Experience in manufacturing environment is preferred.
• Ability to design, develop and deliver technical training.
• Excellent written and spoken communication in multiple languages (Chinese, Bahasa Melayu, English).

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and deliver technical training for manufacturing processes
• Conduct hands-on training for engineers, technicians and operators
• Develop training materials including SOPs, work instructions, manuals and visual aids
• Train employees on equipment setup, operation, changeovers, preventive maintenance, and basic troubleshooting
• Ensure training aligns with safety regulations, quality standards, and manufacturing best practices
• Collaborate with engineering, quality, safety, and production leaders to identify skill gaps and training needs
• Assist with new equipment launches, process changes, and technology upgrades
• To perform any ad-hoc task given by Superior.

Requirements

Candidate must possess at least Diploma/ Degree in Engineering related field, but Industrial Technology and Engineering field will be an added advantage

Experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment

Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, equipment and operations

Ability to train and communicate effectively with diverse, hands-on learner groups

Good interpersonal and communication skills

Good command of Chinese, Bahasa Melayu and English

Candidates must be willing to work in Batu Kawan, Penang
