Job summary

The Malaysia Rapid Transit Corporation Sdn. Bhd. invites applications for a Ticketing Systems Engineer to support AFC systems for the Penang Mutiara Line.

You will engage in design reviews, interface coordination and system integration across ticketing, payments, cybersecurity and back-office components. The ideal candidate holds an engineering or technical degree with CGPA at least 3.0 and prior experience in railway ticketing, AFC or related transit-technology environments.

Ticketing Systems Engineer – Automatic Fare Collection

About the role
MRT Corp is seeking an experienced Ticketing Systems Engineer to support the delivery of ticketing and Automatic Fare Collection (AFC) systems for the Penang Mutiara Line.

What you will do
Support technical design review, interface coordination, requirements management, system integration, testing and commissioning, and operational readiness. Relevant technologies and areas include AFC architecture, EMV / Open Payment, fare media, payment systems, back-office systems, cybersecurity and system interfaces. Coordinate technical matters between ticketing and signalling, telecommunications, Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition, Operations Control Centre, rolling stock, depot, power and external payment providers.

What we are looking for
A relevant engineering or technical degree with minimum CGPA of 3.0, and prior professional experience in railway ticketing, Automatic Fare Collection, payment systems or a closely related transit-technology environment.

Note: This position is offered on a 2-year fixed-term contract, with competitive benefits and an option for renewal based on performance.

MRT Corp was established in 2011 and is fully owned by the Minister of Finance (Incorporated). In 2017, MRT Corp successfully delivered the country’s first MRT line, MRT Kajang Line. This is followed by the MRT Putrajaya Line which was successfully delivered in 2023.

MRT Corp has also been appointed as the Malaysian InfraCo for the Rapid Transit System (RTS) Link Project between Johor Bahru and Singapore. The full opening of the line is targeted to be on 31 December 2026.
