Electric Train Engineer – Electrical & Pneumatic Systems

About the role
MRT Corp is seeking an experienced Electric Train Engineer – Electrical & Pneumatic Systems to support the delivery of rolling-stock systems for the Penang Mutiara Line.

What you will do
Support planning, design review, manufacture, system interfaces, testing and commissioning of Electric Train systems, with particular focus on electrical, electronic and pneumatic systems. Responsibilities include reviewing technical designs and documentation; coordinating interfaces between rolling stock and other railway systems; monitoring contractor deliverables; supporting factory and site testing; identifying technical risks; and contributing to commissioning and operational-readiness activities.

What we are looking for
A relevant engineering degree with minimum CGPA of 3.0, and prior professional experience involving electric trains, rolling stock, rail vehicles or closely related electrical / pneumatic rail systems. Experience in railway design, manufacturing, testing or commissioning is highly relevant.

Note: This position is offered on a 2-year fixed-term contract, with competitive benefits and an option for renewal based on performance.

MRT Corp was established in 2011 and is fully owned by the Minister of Finance (Incorporated). In 2017, MRT Corp successfully delivered the country’s first MRT line, MRT Kajang Line. This is followed by the MRT Putrajaya Line which was successfully delivered in 2023.
