Malaysia Rapid Transit Corporation Sdn. Bhd. is seeking an experienced IT Infrastructure Manager to lead delivery of IT systems, data-centre and private-cloud services for the Penang Mutiara Line.
You will oversee the full project lifecycle from design to handover and operational readiness. The role requires strong background in IT infrastructure, data-centre or major systems deployment, with preference for railway-system delivery or large-scale data-centre projects.
About the role
MRT Corp is seeking an experienced IT Infrastructure Manager to lead the delivery of Information Technology Systems, Data Centre and Cloud Services for the Penang Mutiara Line. The role covers the full project lifecycle: detailed design, interface definition, implementation, system integration, testing and commissioning, trial running, operational readiness and final handover.
What you will do
Lead and coordinate the project’s IT systems, physical data-centre infrastructure and private-cloud environment; review technical designs and contractor submissions; manage interfaces between digital infrastructure and railway subsystems; oversee Interface Control Documents and requirements; monitor contractor deliverables and project risks; and coordinate system integration, testing and operational readiness.
What we are looking for
A bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a relevant technical discipline with minimum CGPA of 3.0, with substantial experience in IT infrastructure, data-centre or major systems implementation.
The current role profile requires significant experience in either railway-system implementation or data-centre implementation, including direct experience establishing Tier-3 data-centre environments and delivering a cloud-based system.
Rail experience is preferred but not essential where the candidate brings strong large-scale data-centre, cloud or critical-infrastructure delivery experience.
Candidates from data centres, telecommunications, financial institutions, utilities, aviation, oil & gas and major infrastructure environments are encouraged to apply where their experience is relevant.
Note: This position is offered on a 2-year fixed-term contract, with competitive benefits and an option for renewal based on performance.
MRT Corp was established in 2011 and is fully owned by the Minister of Finance (Incorporated). In 2017, MRT Corp successfully delivered the country’s first MRT line, MRT Kajang Line. This is followed by the MRT Putrajaya Line which was successfully delivered in 2023.
MRT Corp has also been appointed as the Malaysian InfraCo for the Rapid Transit System (RTS) Link Project between Johor Bahru and Singapore. The full opening of the line is targeted to be on 31 December 2026.
