Job summary

About the role

We are seeking a Test Manager to join TECHTIERA SDN. BHD. in Kuala Lumpur on a contract basis. As Test Manager, you will play a crucial leadership role in overseeing quality assurance and testing operations across our technology projects. This position is integral to ensuring the delivery of high-quality software solutions and maintaining our commitment to excellence in testing and quality standards. You will be responsible for managing testing teams, defining testing strategies, and ensuring that all deliverables meet our rigorous quality benchmarks.

Key responsibilities

Lead, mentor and manage the testing team, providing clear direction, support and performance feedback

Develop and implement comprehensive testing strategies aligned with project requirements and organisational standards

Plan and oversee all testing activities, including functional, integration, system and user acceptance testing

Define testing scope, objectives and timelines for allocated projects and programmes

Monitor test execution progress and report on quality metrics, defects and testing coverage to stakeholders

Collaborate with development teams, business analysts and project managers to ensure effective communication and efficient defect resolution

Establish and maintain testing best practices, standards and documentation procedures

Identify testing risks and propose mitigation strategies to enhance overall project quality

Manage testing resources, budgets and tools effectively to deliver optimal results

Conduct root cause analysis on critical defects and implement corrective actions

What we're looking for

7+ years of experience in software testing and quality assurance, with at least 3 years in a test management or leadership role

Strong knowledge of testing methodologies, tools and frameworks such as JIRA, TestNG, Selenium or similar automation tools

Strong knowledge in Insurance Industry

Proven experience managing and mentoring testing teams of varying sizes

Excellent understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC) and testing best practices

Experience with both manual and automated testing approaches

Strong analytical skills with the ability to identify quality issues and implement solutions

Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to engage effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders

Experience in risk management and the ability to prioritise testing efforts based on business impact

Relevant certifications such as ISTQB, CTAL or similar are advantageous

Experience in Agile or waterfall development environments

Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail
