Job summary

Tentacle Tech in Malaysia is seeking a QA Tester specializing in both traditional automation and AI-assisted testing for a finance project. This onsite contract role involves designing and executing tests, building reliable automation with Playwright, and guiding AI tooling usage while grounding results in actual app behavior.

Ideal candidates will have a degree in CS or Software Engineering, 2–5 years QA experience in regulated environments, API testing, and hands-on AI QA tools.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or related IT field.
• 2–5 years QA/testing experience in finance or regulated enterprise.
• 2 years minimum API testing and manual plus automated functional testing.
• Practical experience using AI tools for QA testing (AI-assisted test case generation).
• Understanding of token-efficient prompting and context-management for AI test scripts.

Responsibilities

• Analyse requirements and perform test design, execution and AI-assisted automation.
• Build and maintain automated test suites using Playwright for web and mobile apps.
• Conduct manual and exploratory testing alongside API and automated test automation.
• Communicate bottlenecks or quality risks and collaborate on solutions.

The Role

We are seeking a QA Tester with a passion for both traditional test automation and cutting‑edge AI‑assisted testing to join a project within the finance sector. In this onsite contract role, you'll design and execute tests, build reliable automation suites with Playwright, and help shape how AI tools are used to accelerate quality engineering while keeping results grounded in real application behaviour.

What You'll Do

• Analyse requirements and perform test design, execution and AI‑assisted automation
• Build and maintain automated test suites using Playwright for web and mobile applications
• Conduct manual and exploratory testing alongside API and functional test automation
• Communicate and elevate bottlenecks or quality risks, working with the team to find viable solutions
• Contribute to and maintain the AI test knowledge base, ensuring AI‑generated tests stay grounded in actual application behaviour
• Support and mentor junior testers and interns while advocating AI‑assisted testing best practices, including token‑efficient prompting
• Document test plans, defect reports and coverage to meet governance requirements

What We’re Looking For

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or a related IT field
• 2-5 years of QA/software testing experience, ideally within insurance, financial services or another regulated enterprise environment
• Min 2 years of API testing and manual plus automated functional testing
• Practical experience using AI tools for QA testing, such as AI‑assisted test case generation or AI‑assisted Playwright scripting
• Understanding of token‑efficient prompting and context‑management techniques when generating test scripts with AI
• Strong communication skills with the ability to work across multiple stakeholders
