Job summary

Tentacle Tech seeks a Junior Automation Test Developer to join our finance automation project in Kuala Lumpur. You will work hands-on with Playwright, convert manual tests to automated scripts, and gain exposure to AI-assisted testing while building a strong QA foundation.

Ideal candidates have 6–12 months in QA/automation, a CS/IT-related diploma or degree, and familiarity with REST APIs, Postman, SQL, and Git. This onsite role offers mentorship and growth within a growing consulting firm.

Qualifications

• 6 months to 1 year of experience in software testing, QA, or automation testing (fresh graduates with relevant Playwright project or internship experience welcome)
• Diploma or bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, Software Engineering, or related discipline
• Exposure to REST API testing, Postman, basic SQL, and version control tools such as Git
• Basic understanding of SDLC, STLC, Agile, and Scrum
• Good analytical, troubleshooting, communication, and teamwork skills
• Malaysian citizen, willing to work fully onsite in the Masjid Jamek area, Kuala Lumpur, and available to start immediately or no later than 10 September 2026

Responsibilities

• Develop, execute, and maintain automated test scripts using Playwright
• Convert manual test cases into automation test scripts
• Perform functional, regression, smoke, integration, and end-to-end testing
• Analyse test results, troubleshoot automation failures, and log and track defects
• Maintain test scripts, test data, reports, and documentation
• Support API testing, database validation, and CI/CD integration
• Use AI-assisted tools to create test scenarios, generate scripts, and improve test coverage

The Role

Are you an aspiring automation tester eager to sharpen your skills on a real-world project?
