Job summary

Jora Malaysia is seeking an experienced Software Tester/Quality Assurance professional to support testing across web, mobile, APIs and backend systems. You will ensure software quality through manual testing, test automation, defect management and close collaboration with development and project teams.

The role requires 3–5 years in QA, hands-on with Selenium/Playwright/Katalon, Postman/Swagger, and familiarity with Jira/Notion. Putrajaya-based contract position with 12-month duration.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering or a related discipline.
• 3 to 5 years of experience in Software Quality Assurance, Software Testing, Technical Documentation or a related role.
• Experience testing web applications, mobile applications, RESTful APIs and backend systems.
• Hands-on experience with test automation tools such as Selenium, Playwright, Katalon or equivalent.
• Experience using API testing tools such as Postman, Swagger or similar platforms.
• Familiarity with defect tracking and project management tools such as Jira, Notion or equivalent.
• Good understanding of Agile/Scrum methodologies and SDLC/STLC best practices.
• Experience working on government-related projects is an advantage.
• ISTQB Foundation Certification or equivalent is an advantage.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Good communication and collaboration skills.
• Ability to work independently as well as effectively within a team.
• Willing to work in Putrajaya.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, execute and maintain manual test cases, test scenarios and test plans for new features, enhancements, bug fixes and regression testing.
• Perform functional, integration, regression, exploratory, usability, smoke and end-to-end testing across web and mobile apps, APIs and backend services.
• Identify, document, prioritise and track defects with clear reproduction steps using defect management tools such as Jira, Notion or similar.
• Support various testing types including ST, SIT, UAT, PAT and FAT.
• Coordinate test execution with internal stakeholders and external clients as required.
• Collaborate with developers to reproduce issues, validate fixes and improve software quality throughout development.
• Develop and maintain automated testing frameworks and scripts using tools such as Selenium, Playwright, Katalon, Postman or equivalent technologies.
• Monitor automated test execution, investigate failures and continuously improve testing reliability and coverage.
• Create, maintain and update comprehensive technical and functional documentation.
• Prepare Test Plans, Test Cases, Test Reports, Release Notes, API Documentation, User Guides, SOPs and Knowledge Base Articles.
• Ensure documentation remains accurate and synchronised with product changes.
• Work closely with development, project and other teams to ensure product quality and regulatory compliance.
• Participate in requirement reviews to identify ambiguities and testability concerns early in development.
• Promote QA best practices and contribute to continuous process improvement.
• Assist in investigating production issues and validating resolutions.
• Perform any other duties as assigned by Management.

Quality Assurance & Testing (Software Tester)

Job Description

We are looking for an experienced Software Tester / Quality Assurance professional to support software testing activities across web applications, mobile applications, APIs and backend systems. The role will be responsible for ensuring software quality through manual testing, test automation, defect management, documentation and close collaboration with development and project teams.

Key ResponsibilitiesQuality Assurance & Testing

• Design, develop, execute and maintain comprehensive manual test cases, test scenarios and test plans for new features, enhancements, bug fixes and regression testing.
• Perform functional, integration, regression, exploratory, usability, smoke and end-to-end testing across web applications, mobile applications, APIs and backend services.
• Identify, document, prioritise and track software defects with clear reproduction steps using defect management tools such as Jira, Notion or similar platforms.
• Support System Testing (ST), System Integration Testing (SIT), User Acceptance Testing (UAT), Provisional Acceptance Testing (PAT) and Final Acceptance Testing (FAT).
• Coordinate test execution with internal stakeholders and external clients where required.
• Collaborate closely with developers to reproduce issues, validate fixes and improve software quality throughout the development lifecycle across different system environments.

Test Automation

• Develop and maintain automated testing frameworks and scripts using tools such as Selenium, Postman, Katalon, Playwright, Cypress or equivalent technologies.
• Monitor automated test execution, investigate failures and continuously improve testing reliability and coverage.

Documentation & Knowledge Management

• Create, maintain and update comprehensive technical and functional documentation.
• Prepare and maintain Test Plans, Test Cases, Test Reports, Release Notes, API Documentation, User Guides, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Knowledge Base Articles.
• Ensure documentation remains accurate, consistent and synchronised with product enhancements, releases and system changes.

Cross-functional Collaboration

• Work closely with development, project and other relevant teams to ensure product quality and regulatory compliance.
• Participate in requirement reviews to identify ambiguities, edge cases and testability concerns early in the development process.
• Promote quality assurance best practices and contribute to continuous process improvement.
