What you'll be doing?
- Tender Document Review - Review tender drawings, specifications, Bills of Quantities (BQ), and all associated tender documents to ensure a thorough understanding of project scope before pricing commences.
- Quantity Take-Off - Carry out detailed and accurate quantity take-offs from tender drawings to form the foundation of reliable cost estimates.
- BQ Pricing & Cost Estimation - Complete and price Bills of Quantities and tender pricing schedules, including the preparation of cost estimates and rate build-ups specifically for C&S works.
- Material, Labour & Plant Pricing - Prepare comprehensive pricing for materials, labour, plant, and subcontractor packages to support competitive and complete tender submissions.
- Supplier & Subcontractor Enquiries - Send enquiries and RFQs to suppliers and subcontractors, follow up diligently to obtain quotations within tender deadlines, and prepare thorough quotation comparisons.
- Quotation Review & Scope Checking - Scrutinise supplier and subcontractor quotations for exclusions, missing scope, and discrepancies to ensure tender pricing is complete and accurate.
- Tender Addenda Management - Review and incorporate tender addenda, revised drawings, and clarifications, updating quantities and prices accordingly to maintain submission accuracy.
- Tender Pricing Summaries - Prepare clear pricing summaries for management review, then revise and finalise submissions before deadlines.
- Records & Knowledge Management - Maintain historical tender rates and quotation records to build institutional knowledge and improve future pricing efficiency.
- Multiple Tender Management - Handle multiple concurrent tender exercises when required, managing priorities effectively to meet all submission timelines.
Who are they looking for?
- Relevant Experience - A minimum of 3-5 years of hands-on experience in construction tendering, BQ pricing, and quantity take-off for C&S works including Earthworks, Piling, RC, Structural Steel, Drainage, and External Civil Works is required.
- Academic Qualification - A Degree in Quantity Surveying or a closely related discipline is required to ensure a strong technical foundation for this role.
- Language Proficiency - A good command of both English and Mandarin (spoken) is required, as the role involves internal communication with Mandarin-speaking teams and stakeholders on a regular basis.
- QS Software (Advantageous) - Familiarity with quantity take-off software such as CostX, Bluebeam, or equivalent tools would be a valued addition to the team.
- Main Contractor Background (Advantageous) - Prior tender experience from a main contractor environment would be an advantage, providing relevant context for the scale and complexity of projects handled.
