Job summary

NOLEK SDN BHD in Penang is seeking an experienced Technical Sales Engineer to drive new business, manage key customers and deliver technical sales support for leak-testing and customized solutions.

You will translate customer needs into engineered proposals, collaborate with Engineering and Production, travel locally, and support FAT activities while maintaining strong relationships and industry knowledge.

Qualifications

• Diploma or degree in mechanical, mechatronics, electrical/electronic, automation engineering or related technical discipline.
• 2 years of experience in technical sales or related fields.
• Familiarity with engineering drawings and technical specifications.

Responsibilities

• Identify and develop new customers and opportunities within assigned markets.
• Manage and develop relationships with existing customers for repeat and new business.
• Understand customer requirements and work with Engineering to develop leak-testing and customized solutions.
• Conduct customer visits, technical discussions, and product/solution presentations.
• Prepare technical-commercial proposals and quotations and follow up opportunities through closure.
• Negotiate pricing and terms within company guidelines.
• Maintain the sales pipeline and provide regular updates on activities.
• Coordinate with Engineering, Project, Production and Service teams during sales and handover.
• Assist with FAT coordination when required.

Job description

We are seeking an experienced Technical Sales Engineer to join NOLEK SDN BHD in Penang. This is a full-time position responsible for developing new business opportunities, managing existing customer relationships, and providing technical sales support for leak-testing and customized solutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Identify and develop new customers and business opportunities within assigned markets and customer segments.
• Manage and develop relationships with existing customers to generate repeat and new business.
• Understand customers' technical requirements and applications and work with the internal Engineering team to develop suitable leak-testing and customized solutions.
• Conduct customer visits, technical discussions, presentations and product/solution introductions.
• Prepare technical-commercial proposals and quotations and actively follow up opportunities through order closure.
• Negotiate pricing and commercial terms within approved company guidelines.
• Maintain and manage the sales pipeline, including prospecting activities, quotation follow-up and sales forecasting.
• Provide regular updates on customer activities, market developments, competitor activities and emerging technologies.
• Coordinate internally with Engineering, Project, Production and Service teams during the sales and project handover process.
• Assist and coordinate customer FAT (Factory Acceptance Test) when required.

What we’re looking for

• Education level: Diploma or Degree in Mechanical, Mechatronics, Electrical/Electronic, Automation Engineering or related technical discipline.
• Work Experience: 2 years of experience in technical sales, application engineering, industrial automation, test & measurement, vacuum/leak testing, machinery or related industrial fields.
• Experience in vacuum or leak-testing technology will be an added advantage.
• Technical Skill: Able to understand mechanical drawings and technical specifications.
• Familiarity with Autodesk Inventor and/or SolidWorks would be an advantage.
• Good understanding of industrial automation, instrumentation or manufacturing processes would be beneficial.
• Communication Skill: Strong communication, presentation, negotiation and interpersonal skills.
• Customer-oriented with an interest in technical solution selling.
• Self-motivated, proactive and results oriented.
• Able to work independently and collaborate with Engineering and other internal teams.
• Willing to travel locally and oversea.
• Willing to work in Simpang Ampat, Penang.
