Job summary

KMWE Malaysia Sdn. Bhd. in Penang is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to develop and maintain Work Instructions, Quality Plans, Process Control Plans and PFMEA for assigned processes.

You will drive improvements in quality, yield and productivity; review engineering drawings and specs; support NPI, and coordinate ERP data accuracy (BOM, routing) across departments. Lead the transition from development to mass production and provide technical training to Manufacturing Technicians while ensuring

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical or related field.
• Minimum 2 years of relevant manufacturing experience.
• Solid understanding of manufacturing processes and process control.
• Experience with ERP systems, BOM, routing and production data is advantageous.
• Proficient reading and interpretation of engineering drawings and specifications.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
• Good communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.
• Ability to work under pressure, manage priorities and meet deadlines.
• Customer-focused mindset with proactive problem-solving.

Job description

Develop and maintain Work Instructions, Quality Plans, Process Control Plans and PFMEA for assigned processes.

Drive improvements in quality, yield, productivity, delivery and cost.

Identify opportunities to improve, simplify and optimize manufacturing processes.

Review engineering drawings, technical specifications and maintain Technical Product Documentation (TPD).

Support NPI activities, including machine buy-off, material evaluation, jigs, fixtures and tooling.

Lead the transition from development to mass production and provide technical training to Manufacturing Technicians.

Conduct process and product testing to validate functionality and compliance with specifications.

Perform preventive maintenance and troubleshooting for production machines, equipment, tools, jigs and fixtures.

Collect and analyze manufacturing data to identify root causes and implement corrective/preventive actions.

Lead and coordinate the implementation of customer Engineering Change Notifications (ECN) and Internal Change Requests (ICR).

Maintain ERP data accuracy, including BOM, routing and target cost.

Perform troubleshooting and analysis of Return Goods Authorization (RGA) parts and prepare technical analysis reports.

Prepare engineering reports and provide technical support to management and operations.

Work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure smooth and efficient production flow.

Perform other engineering projects and assignments as required.

Requirements:

Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering/ Mechatronics Engineering/ Project Management or equivalent.

Minimum 2 years of relevant manufacturing experience, preferably in a similar industry.

Good understanding of manufacturing processes, process control and continuous improvement.

Experience with ERP systems, BOM, routing and production data is an advantage.

Able to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications.

Strong analytical, troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.

Good communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively across departments.

Able to work under pressure, manage priorities and meet deadlines.

Customer-oriented mindset with a proactive approach to problem-solving.
