Job summary

KMWE Malaysia Sdn Bhd is seeking a Maintenance Technician to perform preventive and corrective maintenance on CNC machines (3–5 axis) and auxiliary systems in a manufacturing environment in Penang. The role requires basic CNC knowledge, ability to read mechanical drawings, and strong problem-solving skills.

You will document maintenance activities, support safety procedures and collaborate with production teams to ensure uptime.

Qualifications

• Certificate or Diploma in Mechanical / Mechatronics / Electrical Engineering or equivalent; or 1 to 2 years of related work experiences.
• Able to read simple mechanical drawings and maintenance manuals.
• Familiarity with safety procedures and maintenance documentation.
• Good technical knowledge, problem solving and troubleshooting skills.
• Good communication skills in English.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on CNC machines (3-axis, 4-axis, 5-axis) and auxiliary equipment.
• Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and basic electrical issues.
• Assist in machine installation, relocation, alignment, and commissioning activities.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records, checklists, and breakdown reports.
• Support oil leakage issues and safety procedures, SOPs, and LOTO requirements.
• Work with production team on maintenance and repair activities.
• Support 5S and housekeeping; perform other duties as assigned.

Job description

Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on CNC machines (3-axis, 4-axis, 5-axis) and auxiliary equipment.

Responsible for maintaining and repairing of CNC machines and auxiliary equipment such as coolant systems, chip conveyors, chip bins, compactors and drainage system, high-pressure coolant units, oil mist collectors, hydraulic power units, pneumatic air supply units, air compressors and air dryers, robot loaders, Automatic Tool Changers (ATC), tool presetters, etc to restore machine or equipment to operational condition

Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and basic electrical issues.

Assist in machine installation, relocation, alignment, and commissioning activities.

Maintain accurate maintenance records, checklists, and breakdown reports.

Support oil leakage issues.

Ensure compliance with safety procedures, SOPs, and Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) requirements.

Work with production team on maintenance and repair activities.

Support 5S and housekeeping.

Support other maintenance duties assigned by supervisors.

Requirements:

Certificate or Diploma in Mechanical / Mechatronics / Electrical Engineering or equivalent; or 1 to 2 years of related work experiences.

Basic knowledge of CNC machines, motors and mechanical components.

Able to read simple mechanical drawings and maintenance manuals.

Familiarity with safety procedures and maintenance documentation.

Good technical knowledge, problem solving and troubleshooting skills.

Good communication skills in English.

Able to work shifts.
