Job summary

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Electrical or Electronic Engineering or related field.
• 2–3 years of experience in technical engineering or manufacturing in electrical/electronic industries.
• Strong knowledge of electrical systems, circuit design, PCB design and electronic components.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical support and troubleshooting for electrical and electronic systems on the manufacturing floor.
• Conduct preventative maintenance inspections and recommend improvements for reliability.
• Collaborate with design and production teams to resolve issues and optimize processes.
• Review drawings, schematics and specs for compliance with project requirements and safety standards.
• Test and validate components to meet quality and performance standards.
• Assist in installation, commissioning and calibration of equipment and systems.
• Document findings, maintenance records and process improvements clearly.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives for cost reduction and efficiency gains.
• Ensure work complies with health, safety, and environmental regulations.

About the role

KDS Manufacturing (M) Sdn. Bhd. is seeking a Technical Engineer to join our engineering team in Kulai, Johor. This is a full-time position that plays a crucial role in supporting our manufacturing operations and ensuring the technical excellence of our electrical and electronic engineering projects. As a Technical Engineer, you will be instrumental in bridging the gap between design and production, providing technical expertise and problem-solving capabilities to drive operational efficiency and product quality. Your contributions will directly impact our ability to deliver high-quality solutions to our clients whilst maintaining industry standards and safety compliance.

Key responsibilities

• Provide technical support and troubleshooting for electrical and electronic systems and equipment on the manufacturing floor
• Conduct preventative maintenance inspections and recommend improvements to enhance equipment reliability and performance
• Collaborate with design and production teams to resolve technical issues and optimise manufacturing processes
• Review technical drawings, schematics and specifications to ensure compliance with project requirements and safety standards
• Test and validate electrical and electronic components and assemblies to ensure they meet quality and performance standards
• Assist in the installation, commissioning and calibration of manufacturing equipment and systems
• Document technical findings, maintenance records and process improvements in a clear and organised manner
• Support continuous improvement initiatives by identifying opportunities for cost reduction and efficiency gains
• Ensure all work is conducted in compliance with relevant health, safety and environmental regulations

What we're looking for

• Male candidate holding a Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, or a related technical field.
• Minimum 2-3 years of experience in technical engineering, manufacturing or a related field within the electrical or electronic industry
• Strong knowledge of electrical systems, circuit design, PCB design and electronic components
• Proficiency in using electrical testing and diagnostic equipment such as multimeters, oscilloscopes and power analyzers
• Experience with technical drawing interpretation
• Problem-solving and analytical skills with the ability to troubleshoot technical issues
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively within cross-functional teams
• Attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high standards of quality and safety
• Familiarity with relevant industry standards, regulations and best practices in electrical and electronic engineering
