Job summary

TECHMAN ELECTRONICS (MALAYSIA) SDN. BHD. is seeking an Engineering Technician to join our Simpang Ampat Penang team on a full-time basis.

You will provide essential technical support to our engineering operations, contributing to the design, development, testing and manufacture of mechanical systems and components. Qualifications

• Diploma or certification in Mechanical Engineering, Mechanical Technology or a related discipline.
• 2-4 years of practical experience in a mechanical engineering, manufacturing or technical support environment.
• Proficiency in CAD software (AutoCAD, SolidWorks or equivalent) and Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the design and development of mechanical components and systems using CAD software and other technical tools
• Perform mechanical testing, measurements and quality inspections on components and assemblies to ensure compliance with specifications
• Maintain and operate mechanical equipment and machinery in accordance with safety protocols and standard operating procedures
• Prepare technical drawings, schematics and documentation to support engineering projects
• Support the assembly, installation and commissioning of mechanical systems and equipment
• Conduct troubleshooting and perform maintenance on mechanical systems to identify and resolve technical issues
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives by identifying opportunities to enhance processes and efficiency
• Maintain accurate records of testing results, maintenance activities and technical specifications
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to meet project deadlines and technical requirements
• Adhere to health, safety and environmental regulations in all work activities

About the role

TECHMAN ELECTRONICS (MALAYSIA) SDN. BHD. is seeking an Engineering Technician to join our team in Simpang Ampat Penang on a full-time basis. In this role, you will provide essential technical support to our engineering operations, contributing directly to the design, development, testing and manufacture of mechanical systems and components. As an Engineering Technician, you will work alongside our engineering team to ensure that projects are delivered to the highest standards of quality and efficiency. This position is integral to maintaining our commitment to precision engineering and innovation in the electronics and mechanical engineering sectors.

Key responsibilities

What we’re looking for

• Diploma or certification in Mechanical Engineering, Mechanical Technology or a related engineering discipline
• 2-4 years of practical experience in a mechanical engineering, manufacturing or technical support environment
• Proficiency in CAD software (such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks or equivalent) and Microsoft Office applications
• Strong knowledge of mechanical principles, materials and manufacturing processes
• Experience with mechanical testing equipment, precision measurement tools and quality control procedures
• Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to work methodically and pay attention to detail
• Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a team environment
• Familiarity with electronics or electrical systems is advantageous
• Knowledge of health and safety standards relevant to mechanical engineering is desirable
• Willingness to learn new technologies and adapt to evolving technical requirements
