Job summary

Elcomp Trading Sdn Bhd in Perai, Penang is seeking a skilled Technical Engineer with 3–5 years of electrical/electronic engineering experience to join our team. You will design, test and troubleshoot systems to ensure high performance and reliability, and contribute to product development from concept through launch.

You’ll collaborate with cross-functional teams, prepare circuit diagrams and specifications, support installation and maintenance, and help drive continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering or a related discipline.
• 3–5 years of professional experience in electrical/electronic engineering.
• Fluent knowledge of circuit design and PCB layout.

Responsibilities

• Designing, developing and testing electrical and electronic systems and components
• Conducting technical analysis and troubleshooting of electrical and electronic equipment to identify and resolve issues
• Preparing detailed technical documentation, including circuit diagrams, schematics and specifications
• Collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure projects are completed on time and within budget
• Performing quality assurance checks and validation testing on products and systems
• Supporting the installation, commissioning and maintenance of electrical and electronic systems
• Liaising with clients and suppliers to gather requirements and provide technical guidance
• Staying current with industry standards, regulations and best practices in electrical and electronic engineering
• Providing technical support and training to junior staff members when required

What you'll be doing

What we’re looking for

• Minimum 3-5 years of professional experience in electrical or electronic engineering
• Strong knowledge of circuit design, PCB layout and electronic component selection
• Proficiency with industry-standard design software and simulation tools
• Solid understanding of electrical safety standards, regulations and compliance requirements
• Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to diagnose and resolve technical issues efficiently
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively in a team environment
• Attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality work
• Valid driving licence (preferable)
• Certification in relevant electrical or electronic engineering disciplines (desirable)
• Experience with specific systems or applications in the electrical and electronic engineering sector (desirable)
