Job summary

Bradken in Merlimau, Melaka seeks an experienced Team Leader to oversee a production team on-site. You will manage workflows, ensure output quality, and drive continuous improvement in a heavy manufacturing environment.

The role requires hands-on coaching, adherence to safety, and collaboration across departments to meet production schedules. A diploma/certificate in engineering and strong leadership are essential.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Team Leader / Supervisor in manufacturing.
• 5 to 7 years in moulding industry experience.
• Strong leadership and interpersonal skills for team motivation.
• Excellent problem solving and decision making abilities.
• Understanding of manufacturing processes and quality control.

Responsibilities

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Team Leader to join our manufacturing operations in Merlimau, Melaka.

As a Team Leader, you will play a crucial role in overseeing a team of production workers, ensuring efficient workflows and high-quality output. This is a full-time position based on-site at our facility.

In this role you will:

Supervise and coordinate the activities of a team of production workers

Monitor team performance and productivity, and implement strategies to optimize workflows

Provide hands‑on training and coaching to team members to develop their skills

Identify and resolve any operational issues or bottlenecks in a timely manner

Ensure strict adherence to health, safety and quality standards

Collaborate with other departments to plan and execute production schedules

Provide regular progress reports to management

You will have:

Proven experience as a Team Leader / Supervisor / Shift Lead in a manufacturing environment, especially heavy industry

5 to 7 years in moulding

Strong leadership and interpersonal skills to effectively manage and motivate a team

Excellent problem‑solving and decision‑making abilities

Thorough understanding of manufacturing processes, quality control & resource management

Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies

Strong communication and reporting skills

Ability to work collaboratively within a fast‑paced, dynamic team. Able to work on shift hours (morning and afternoon), 6 days work week (Mon to Sat) but do not exceed 45 hours per week

Qualification

Certificate or Diploma in Engineering, Manufacturing Technology (other types of Engineering / Technical disciplines will be considered.

Technical Skills

Foundry pattern - pattern assembly, repair, and familiarity with wood, metal and resin patterns

Knowledge of casting design principles, tolerances and shrinkage allowance

Tooling - machining processes, jigs, fixtures, gauges and tooling design. Require proficiency in CAD/CAM software
